Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Construction & Engineering, Information Technology and Trading sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) added 12.86% or 4.90 points to end at 43.00 and Ceylon Hotels Corporation PLC (CM:CHOT) was up 11.20% or 2.80 points to 27.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO), which lost 12.50% or 200.00 points to trade at 1400.00 in late trade. Hunas Falls Hotels PLC (CM:HUNA) declined 11.82% or 7.80 points to end at 58.20 and PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) shed 9.09% or 0.10 points to 1.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 140 to 91 and 15 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.73% or 0.34 to $47.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.35% or 0.72 to hit $52.75 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.45% or 4.90 to trade at $1092.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.16% to 207.620, while USD/LKR fell 0.14% to 133.415.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.39% at 97.00.
