Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Services and Palm Oil sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.08% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) added 50.00% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.3000 and Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) was up 25.00% or 250.00 points to 1250.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ), which lost 19.31% or 10.10 points to trade at 42.20 in late trade. Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) declined 10.00% or 2.00 points to end at 18.00 and Convenience Foods (Lanka) PLC (CM:SOY) shed 5.79% or 19.70 points to 320.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 112 to 70 and 47 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.15% or 0.07 to $47.76 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $50.75 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.35% or 4.30 to trade at $1228.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.21% to 196.170, while USD/LKR fell 0.08% to 152.460.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 99.52.
