Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Trading, Information Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE), which rose 14.29% or 0.30 points to trade at 2.40 at the close. Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO) added 11.90% or 170.10 points to end at 1599.70 and Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) was up 9.58% or 3.00 points to 34.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Maskeliya Plantations PLC (CM:MASK), which lost 11.63% or 1.00 points to trade at 7.60 in late trade. Royal Palms Beach Hotels PLC (CM:RPBH) declined 10.79% or 3.40 points to end at 28.10 and Hotel Sigiriya PLC (CM:HSIG) shed 9.17% or 11.00 points to 109.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 98 to 74 and 48 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.90% or 0.37 to $40.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.06% or 0.46 to hit $42.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1341.10 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.11% to 192.115, while USD/LKR rose 0.05% to 145.950.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.42% at 96.28.
