Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Energy and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.27% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which rose 2.24% or 2.06 points to trade at 94.00 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 1.49% or 1.14 points to end at 77.46 and TVN SA (WA:TVN) was up 1.36% or 0.24 points to 17.84 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which lost 7.47% or 13.90 points to trade at 172.10 in late trade. Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) declined 3.95% or 13.90 points to end at 337.80 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) shed 3.49% or 255.00 points to 7050.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 312 to 228 and 114 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.36% or 0.82 to $61.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.87% or 0.56 to hit $65.44 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.27% or 3.20 to trade at $1191.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.18% to 4.1230, while USD/PLN fell 1.70% to 3.7019.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.48% at 96.08.
