Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Chemicals, Construction and Food sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which rose 0.96% or 0.19 points to trade at 19.94 at the close. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) added 0.95% or 0.21 points to end at 22.38 and Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) was up 0.57% or 0.90 points to 159.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which lost 5.84% or 5.20 points to trade at 83.81 in late trade. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) declined 4.04% or 0.17 points to end at 4.04 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) shed 3.96% or 0.65 points to 15.78.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 363 to 171 and 131 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.57% or 1.06 to $40.26 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.50% or 1.17 to hit $45.45 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.45% or 5.20 to trade at $1158.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.67% to 4.2180, while USD/PLN fell 0.31% to 3.7151.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.79% at 95.01.
