Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Oil & Gas and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW), which rose 2.12% or 2.11 points to trade at 101.60 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 1.83% or 0.21 points to end at 11.70 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was up 1.45% or 1.60 points to 111.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which lost 3.74% or 0.26 points to trade at 6.69 in late trade. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 3.31% or 2.80 points to end at 81.80 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) shed 2.54% or 0.16 points to 6.14.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 292 to 285 and 96 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.89% or 0.54 to $60.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.38% or 0.88 to hit $64.22 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.58% or 6.90 to trade at $1177.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.05% to 4.1639, while USD/PLN rose 1.41% to 3.7264.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.10% at 95.56.
