Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Telecoms and Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.29% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which rose 2.97% or 195.60 points to trade at 6776.00 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 2.07% or 0.14 points to end at 6.90 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 1.11% or 0.79 points to 71.88 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which lost 4.77% or 3.87 points to trade at 77.18 in late trade. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) declined 3.17% or 0.48 points to end at 14.65 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) shed 2.55% or 7.85 points to 300.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 370 to 164 and 113 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.22% or 1.16 to $51.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.84% or 0.47 to hit $56.38 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.82% or 9.40 to trade at $1162.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.70% to 4.2374, while USD/PLN rose 0.03% to 3.8230.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.59% at 96.31.
