Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Media and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which rose 2.85% or 0.070 points to trade at 2.530 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 2.34% or 0.12 points to end at 5.25 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was up 2.25% or 4.05 points to 184.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which lost 4.03% or 0.36 points to trade at 8.57 in late trade. CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) declined 2.32% or 0.92 points to end at 38.68 and Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) shed 1.53% or 0.09 points to 5.81.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 266 to 233 and 186 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.00% or 0.50 to $50.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.16% or 0.60 to hit $52.46 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.76% or 9.60 to trade at $1259.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.39% to 4.2847, while USD/PLN fell 0.00% to 3.8387.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.44% at 96.55.
