Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Construction and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 1.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which rose 5.37% or 3.72 points to trade at 73.00 at the close. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) added 3.65% or 4.32 points to end at 122.60 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was up 3.48% or 2.49 points to 73.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which lost 1.80% or 0.100 points to trade at 5.470 in late trade. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) declined 0.95% or 0.06 points to end at 6.27 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) shed 0.72% or 0.06 points to 8.22.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 316 to 273 and 163 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.19% or 0.09 to $48.40 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $51.40 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 1.80 to trade at $1203.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.20% to 4.3298, while USD/PLN fell 0.04% to 4.0623.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 101.19.
