Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 1.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM), which rose 6.23% or 4.58 points to trade at 78.11 at the close. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) added 5.56% or 0.17 points to end at 3.23 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was up 3.91% or 2.00 points to 53.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which lost 2.77% or 0.71 points to trade at 24.89 in late trade. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) declined 1.40% or 0.93 points to end at 65.62 and Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW) shed 1.29% or 0.91 points to 69.46.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 314 to 287 and 100 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.77% or 0.74 to $41.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.38% or 0.61 to hit $43.95 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.43% or 15.50 to trade at $1068.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.10% to 4.2507, while USD/PLN rose 0.57% to 3.9968.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.32% at 99.79.
