Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Chemicals and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 1.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 3.32% or 1.83 points to trade at 56.99 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 2.82% or 2.00 points to end at 73.00 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was up 2.67% or 1.94 points to 74.68 in late trade.
Biggest losers included OrangePL (WA:OPL), which lost 1.32% or 0.07 points to trade at 5.22 in late trade. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) declined 0.44% or 0.020 points to end at 4.530 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) shed 0.40% or 0.20 points to 50.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 263 to 243 and 210 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.13% or 0.06 to $44.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.13% or 0.06 to hit $46.09 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.27% or 3.45 to trade at $1275.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.02% to 4.3293, while USD/PLN rose 0.12% to 3.9250.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 97.88.
