Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Energy, Basic Materials and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which rose 5.15% or 265.45 points to trade at 5418.80 at the close. Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) added 5.06% or 3.24 points to end at 67.29 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) was up 4.89% or 0.48 points to 10.29 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which lost 4.96% or 1.99 points to trade at 38.11 in late trade. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) declined 2.50% or 0.13 points to end at 5.06 and Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) shed 1.68% or 1.00 points to 58.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 272 to 246 and 187 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.26% or 0.13 to $50.07 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $51.49 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.66% or 8.25 to trade at $1264.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.10% to 4.3167, while USD/PLN fell 0.07% to 3.9256.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 97.74.
