Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Energy, Basic Materials and Developers sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which rose 4.40% or 0.59 points to trade at 14.00 at the close. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) added 4.06% or 0.14 points to end at 3.59 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) was up 3.46% or 0.52 points to 15.56 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which lost 3.18% or 2.31 points to trade at 70.24 in late trade. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 1.85% or 0.80 points to end at 42.50 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) shed 1.68% or 1.49 points to 87.01.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 303 to 260 and 117 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.46% or 0.21 to $45.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 3.37% or 1.60 to hit $49.23 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.25% or 2.80 to trade at $1124.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.19% to 4.2274, while USD/PLN fell 0.27% to 3.7814.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 96.00.
