Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Energy, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which rose 2.16% or 1.47 points to trade at 69.50 at the close. Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) added 2.13% or 0.15 points to end at 7.20 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was up 1.98% or 0.24 points to 12.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which lost 4.04% or 2.74 points to trade at 65.01 in late trade. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) declined 1.97% or 2.15 points to end at 107.23 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) shed 1.36% or 2.95 points to 214.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 272 to 227 and 190 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 4.32% or 2.08 to $46.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 3.39% or 1.70 to hit $48.42 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.43% or 5.64 to trade at $1291.86 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.24% to 4.2037, while USD/PLN rose 0.66% to 3.7432.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 96.83.
