Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Information Technology and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.05% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were mBank (WA:MBK), which rose 4.90% or 18.50 points to trade at 396.00 at the close. CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) added 2.75% or 1.70 points to end at 63.50 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was up 1.86% or 1.25 points to 68.42 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which lost 2.41% or 0.070 points to trade at 2.830 in late trade. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) declined 2.12% or 0.21 points to end at 9.70 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) shed 2.06% or 0.50 points to 23.75.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 299 to 270 and 170 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.61% or 0.32 to $52.49 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.62% or 0.34 to hit $55.39 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.67% or 8.25 to trade at $1244.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.10% to 4.3114, while USD/PLN fell 0.10% to 4.0277.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 100.10.
