Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Media, Construction and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.02% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which rose 2.74% or 0.40 points to trade at 15.00 at the close. Kruk SA (WA:KRU) added 1.66% or 5.00 points to end at 306.95 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 1.60% or 0.41 points to 26.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR), which lost 1.86% or 1.55 points to trade at 81.85 in late trade. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) declined 1.71% or 1.06 points to end at 60.95 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) shed 1.68% or 0.22 points to 12.88.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 256 to 221 and 182 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.98% or 0.45 to $46.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.01% or 0.49 to hit $48.91 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.82% or 9.98 to trade at $1227.28 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.44% to 4.2055, while USD/PLN fell 0.91% to 3.6723.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 95.05.
