Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Property, Holding Firms and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Energy Development Corp (PS:EDC), which rose 2.43% or 0.140 points to trade at 5.910 at the close. Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) added 1.95% or 0.090 points to end at 4.710 and Emperador Inc (PS:EMP) was up 1.92% or 0.150 points to 7.950 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO), which lost 1.84% or 38.00 points to trade at 2032.00 in late trade. BDO Unibank Inc (PS:BDO) declined 0.57% or 0.70 points to end at 122.80 and Alliance Global Group Inc (PS:AGI) shed 0.14% or 0.020 points to 13.980.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 104 to 103 and 51 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.17% or 2.14 to $1229.64 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.43% or 0.20 to hit $46.74 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.51% or 0.25 to trade at $49.16 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.23% to 7.4881, while USD/PHP rose 0.09% to 50.675.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 95.04.
