Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Holding Firms and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT), which rose 5.04% or 3.800 points to trade at 79.200 at the close. Universal Robina Corp (PS:URC) added 2.81% or 4.50 points to end at 164.60 and Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co (PS:MBT) was up 1.54% or 1.20 points to 79.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC), which lost 2.32% or 3.50 points to trade at 147.50 in late trade. Robinsons Land Corp (PS:RLC) declined 1.30% or 0.300 points to end at 22.800 and DMCI Holdings Inc (PS:DMC) shed 1.28% or 0.160 points to 12.360.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 104 to 86 and 49 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.04% or 0.45 to $1202.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.19% or 0.09 to hit $48.49 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.23% or 0.12 to trade at $51.47 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.05% to 7.2800, while USD/PHP fell 0.01% to 50.321.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 101.44.
