Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Holding Firms, Services and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Jollibee Foods (PS:JFC), which rose 2.37% or 4.500 points to trade at 195.000 at the close. Metro Pacifi I (PS:MPI) added 2.06% or 0.100 points to end at 5.000 and Globe Telecom (PS:GLO) was up 2.02% or 52.000 points to 2634.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Petron (PS:PCOR), which lost 22.10% or 2.210 points to trade at 7.780 in late trade. Alliance Globa (PS:AGI) declined 1.11% or 0.250 points to end at 22.350 and Aboitiz Power (PS:AP) shed 1.03% or 0.45 points to 43.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 87 to 85 and 20 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.18% or 2.00 to $1093.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.73% or 0.81 to hit $46.30 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.24% or 1.17 to trade at $51.04 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.02% to 7.3628, while USD/PHP fell 0.02% to 45.721.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 97.49.
