Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM), which rose 4.36% or 0.410 points to trade at 9.800 at the close. Bk Of Phi Isla (PS:BPI) added 1.97% or 1.85 points to end at 96.00 and Aboitiz Equity (PS:AEV) was up 1.73% or 1.000 points to 58.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Petron (PS:PCOR), which lost 4.61% or 0.360 points to trade at 7.500 in late trade. Energy Develop (PS:EDC) declined 2.72% or 0.200 points to end at 7.100 and Dmci Holdings (PS:DMC) shed 2.16% or 0.260 points to 11.800.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 101 to 83 and 19 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.05% or 0.60 to $1097.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.94% or 0.45 to hit $47.53 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.11% or 0.59 to trade at $52.71 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.11% to 7.3305, while USD/PHP rose 0.10% to 45.516.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 96.77.
