Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Services and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ), which rose 1.20% or 0.140 points to trade at 11.800 at the close. Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) added 1.00% or 0.26 points to end at 26.28 and Atacocha (LM:ATB) was up 0.33% or 0.001 points to 0.305 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which lost 2.60% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.750 in late trade. Inretail Peru (LM:INR) declined 2.17% or 0.400 points to end at 18.000 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) shed 1.91% or 0.240 points to 12.350.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 4 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.93% or 0.48 to $50.87 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $52.58 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.47% or 5.95 to trade at $1254.45 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.4035, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7609.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.84% at 97.72.
