Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Mining, Food & Beverages and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Panoro (LM:PML), which rose 3.57% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.145 at the close. Bco Continenta (LM:CON) added 3.42% or 0.140 points to end at 4.240 and Edegel (LM:EDE) was up 2.08% or 0.050 points to 2.450 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC), which lost 4.17% or 1.45 points to trade at 33.30 in late trade. Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO) declined 2.51% or 0.180 points to end at 7.000 and Atacocha (LM:ATB) shed 2.33% or 0.010 points to 0.420.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 13 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.59% or 0.31 to $52.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.66% or 0.37 to hit $55.32 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.45% or 5.25 to trade at $1160.55 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.16% to 3.3950, while EUR/PEN rose 0.12% to 3.6124.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 101.09.
