Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Banking & Financials and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Milpo (LM:MIL), which rose 1.89% or 0.050 points to trade at 2.700 at the close. Unacem (LM:CEL) added 1.22% or 0.030 points to end at 2.500 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) was up 1.00% or 0.100 points to 10.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which lost 14.50% or 0.029 points to trade at 0.171 in late trade. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 4.29% or 0.030 points to end at 0.700 and Minera Irl (LM:IRL) 0% or 0 points to 0.09.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 13 to 9 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.72% or 0.41 to $56.55 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.31% or 0.19 to hit $61.82 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.29% or 3.40 to trade at $1165.90 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.22% to 3.1715, while EUR/PEN fell 0.32% to 3.5231.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 96.28.
