Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Mining and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Panoro (LM:PML), which rose 5.84% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.145 at the close. Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) added 1.64% or 0.010 points to end at 0.620 and Alicorp (LM:ALI) was up 1.45% or 0.110 points to 7.720 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb), which lost 1.49% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.660 in late trade. Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) declined 1.14% or 0.220 points to end at 19.000 and Edelnor (LM:EDN) shed 0.81% or 0.050 points to 6.150.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 13 to 9 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.67% or 0.31 to $46.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.10% or 0.05 to hit $49.86 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.22% or 3.05 to trade at $1353.85 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3120, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7289.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 94.69.
