Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Food & Beverages and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi), which rose 3.85% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.540 at the close. Sider (LM:SID) added 2.86% or 0.010 points to end at 0.360 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was up 2.35% or 0.020 points to 0.870 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG), which lost 6.88% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.490 in late trade. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 4.72% or 0.050 points to end at 1.010 and Volcan Compania Minera SAA (LM:VOLa) shed 2.50% or 0.050 points to 1.950.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 11 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.85% or 0.40 to $46.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $49.28 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.14% or 1.68 to trade at $1243.68 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2081, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7302.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.59% at 94.08.
