Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.94%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 4.29% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.730 at the close. Milpo (LM:MIL) added 3.02% or 0.080 points to end at 2.730 and Sider (LM:SID) was up 2.94% or 0.012 points to 0.420 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Edegel (LM:EDE), which lost 4.24% or 0.140 points to trade at 3.160 in late trade. Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) declined 1.26% or 0.150 points to end at 11.750 and Relapasa (LM:REL) shed 0.78% or 0.002 points to 0.253.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 10 and 11 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.92% or 1.25 to $41.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $43.83 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.43% or 5.85 to trade at $1352.55 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3190, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6954.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.49% at 95.59.
