Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Industrials and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Atacocha (LM:ATB), which rose 9.83% or 0.034 points to trade at 0.380 at the close. Milpo (LM:MIL) added 5.61% or 0.170 points to end at 3.200 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was up 4.25% or 0.020 points to 0.490 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Edegel (LM:EDE), which lost 3.04% or 0.070 points to trade at 2.230 in late trade. Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) declined 2.86% or 0.020 points to end at 0.680 and Inretail Peru (LM:INR) shed 2.21% or 0.430 points to 19.020.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 11 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 8.45% or 3.82 to $49.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 8.79% or 4.16 to hit $51.48 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 1.30% or 15.45 to trade at $1175.35 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 3.63% to 3.2780, while EUR/PEN rose 0.43% to 3.6375.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.53% at 101.52.
