Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Services and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 11.36% or 0.710 points to trade at 6.960 at the close. Enersur SA (LM:ENE) added 2.20% or 0.190 points to end at 8.840 and Credicorp (LM:BAP) was up 1.92% or 2.370 points to 126.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Casa Grande (LM:CSG), which lost 4.62% or 0.310 points to trade at 6.400 in late trade. Milpo (LM:MIL) declined 4.21% or 0.090 points to end at 2.050 and Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) shed 3.65% or 0.700 points to 18.500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 13 to 7 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 2.21% or 0.87 to $38.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.05% or 0.02 to hit $40.06 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.82% or 22.20 to trade at $1244.20 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3780, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7776.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.85% at 95.17.
