Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.41% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Panoro (LM:PML), which rose 10.74% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.134 at the close. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 5.64% or 0.460 points to end at 8.610 and Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) was up 2.94% or 0.300 points to 10.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Edegel (LM:EDE), which lost 4.62% or 0.120 points to trade at 2.480 in late trade. Atacocha (LM:ATB) declined 4.10% or 0.012 points to end at 0.281 and Inversiones Centenario SAA (LM:ICE) shed 3.70% or 0.200 points to 5.200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 11 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.72% or 0.76 to $43.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 2.25% or 1.03 to hit $44.77 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.30% or 3.80 to trade at $1250.60 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2665, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6703.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 94.62.
