Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, Food & Beverages and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Inretail Peru (LM:INR), which rose 2.78% or 0.500 points to trade at 18.500 at the close. Minsur (LM:MINi) added 1.57% or 0.020 points to end at 1.290 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) was up 1.29% or 0.34 points to 26.62 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Panoro (LM:PML), which lost 4.92% or 0.006 points to trade at 0.116 in late trade. Milpo (LM:MIL) declined 2.54% or 0.070 points to end at 2.680 and Sider (LM:SID) shed 2.50% or 0.010 points to 0.390.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 12 to 9 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.46% or 0.74 to $50.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $51.69 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.08% or 0.95 to trade at $1256.85 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.4015, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7499.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 97.99.
