Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Non-Metal Minerals and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX), which unchanged 6.52% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.05 at the close. Unacem (LM:CEL) added 2.13% or 0.050 points to end at 2.400 and Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) was up 1.96% or 0.230 points to 11.950 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Panoro (LM:PML), which lost 7.69% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.120 in late trade. Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) declined 5.10% or 0.008 points to end at 0.149 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) shed 2.66% or 0.310 points to 11.330.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 12 to 8 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 3.87% or 1.80 to $44.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.09% or 0.04 to hit $46.91 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.42% or 5.34 to trade at $1263.26 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2715, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 96.91.
