Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, S&P Lima Juniors and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Atacocha (LM:ATB), which rose 8.20% or 0.025 points to trade at 0.330 at the close. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 5.50% or 0.670 points to end at 12.860 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) was up 2.00% or 0.009 points to 0.459 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Minsur (LM:MINi), which lost 3.25% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.190 in late trade. Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) declined 3.23% or 0.020 points to end at 0.600 and Sider (LM:SID) shed 3.23% or 0.010 points to 0.300.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 8 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.81% or 1.31 to $47.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $49.22 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.52% or 7.00 to trade at $1365.70 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2850, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6352.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 96.13.
