Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Candente Copper (LM:DNT), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.0000 points to trade at 0.0470 at the close. Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) added 0.87% or 0.30 points to end at 34.95 and Unacem (LM:CEL) was up 0.85% or 0.020 points to 2.380 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Inversiones Centenario SAA (LM:ICE), which lost 50.85% or 3.000 points to trade at 2.900 in late trade. Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) declined 8.33% or 0.012 points to end at 0.132 and Minera Irl (LM:IRL) shed 8.33% or 0.01 points to 0.07.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 9 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.55% or 1.16 to $44.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.66% or 1.28 to hit $46.83 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.93% or 11.32 to trade at $1211.98 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.14% to 3.2490, while EUR/PEN fell 0.19% to 3.7110.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 95.78.
