Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Lima Assorted and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the Lima Stock Exchange General rose 0.68% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Lima Stock Exchange General were Relapasa (LM:REL), which rose 10.00% or 0.016 points to trade at 0.176 at the close. Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) added 8.82% or 0.030 points to end at 0.370 and Sider (LM:SID) was up 7.14% or 0.010 points to 0.150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Edegel (LM:EDE), which lost 2.87% or 0.110 points to trade at 3.730 in late trade. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) declined 2.69% or 0.290 points to end at 10.510 and Unacem (LM:CEL) shed 1.28% or 0.030 points to 2.320.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 12 to 6 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 4.96% or 2.65 to $55.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 5.08% or 3.04 to hit $62.85 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.81% or 9.70 to trade at $1202.30 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.05% to 3.1240, while EUR/PEN rose 0.00% to 3.2909.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.47% at 98.55.
