Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Electricity and Lima Assorted sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the Lima Stock Exchange General added 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Lima Stock Exchange General were Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi), which rose 2.70% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.370 at the close. Edelnor (LM:EDN) added 2.54% or 0.140 points to end at 5.650 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was up 1.75% or 0.010 points to 0.580 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sider (LM:SID), which lost 6.25% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.150 in late trade. Luna Gold (LM:LGC) declined 5.88% or 0.010 points to end at 0.160 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) shed 2.26% or 0.240 points to 10.360.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 10 to 6 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.39% or 0.20 to $50.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $56.67 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1194.40 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.16% to 3.1040, while EUR/PEN fell 0.89% to 3.3405.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.01% at 99.25.
