Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Diversified Financials, Energy and Consumer Durables And Apparel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 0.56% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Det norske oljeselskap ASA (OSLO:DETNOR), which rose 11.93% or 6.05 points to trade at 56.75 at the close. Subsea 7 SA (OSLO:SUBC) added 8.11% or 6.2 points to end at 83.0 and Seadrill Limited (OSLO:SDRL) was up 6.45% or 5.8 points to 95.7 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OSLO:REC), which lost 3.14% or 0.07 points to trade at 2.29 in late trade. Yara International ASA (OSLO:YAR) declined 2.26% or 9.8 points to end at 424.7 and Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OSLO:NWC) shed 1.72% or 5.0 points to 285.3.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 113 to 63 and 5 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 4.33% or 2.31 to $55.60 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 3.37% or 2.02 to hit $61.83 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.29% or 3.50 to trade at $1196.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 1.09% to 8.3733, while USD/NOK fell 0.55% to 7.9019.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 99.21.
