Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Commercial Service And Supplies, Hotels, Restaurants & Leisure and Media sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Subsea 7 SA (OSLO:SUBC), which rose 1.46% or 1.0 points to trade at 69.3 at the close. Schibsted ASA A (OSLO:SBSTA) added 1.38% or 3.7 points to end at 272.3 and Gjensidige Forsikring ASA (OSLO:GJFS) was up 1.18% or 1.5 points to 128.4 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Akastor ASA (OSLO:AKAS), which lost 4.46% or 0.5 points to trade at 10.7 in late trade. Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OSLO:REC) declined 4.36% or 0.06 points to end at 1.29 and Seadrill Limited (OSLO:SDRL) shed 2.70% or 1.9 points to 68.6.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 101 to 73 and 4 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.42% or 1.05 to $42.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.45% or 0.73 to hit $49.45 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.73% or 8.20 to trade at $1115.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.56% to 9.1559, while USD/NOK rose 0.76% to 8.2184.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 96.48.
