Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Banking and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.47% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Opera Software ASA (OL:OPERA), which rose 2.31% or 1.50 points to trade at 66.50 at the close. DnB ASA (OL:DNB) added 2.00% or 2.1 points to end at 107.3 and Yara International ASA (OL:YAR) was up 1.78% or 5.3 points to 303.5 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which lost 7.37% or 2.2 points to trade at 27.2 in late trade. Subsea 7 SA (OL:SUBC) declined 5.23% or 4.1 points to end at 74.3 and REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC) shed 3.59% or 0.07 points to 1.88.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 91 to 80 and 18 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.30% or 0.15 to $49.71 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.34% or 0.17 to hit $49.91 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.14% or 1.75 to trade at $1222.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.39% to 9.2495, while USD/NOK fell 0.61% to 8.2727.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 95.22.
