Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences, Auto & components and Consumer Durables And Apparel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OSLO:SDRL), which rose 3.62% or 2.9 points to trade at 81.7 at the close. Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OSLO:FOE) added 3.43% or 1.9 points to end at 55.8 and Statoil ASA (OSLO:STL) was up 2.25% or 3.1 points to 140.7 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Schibsted ASA A (OSLO:SBSTA), which lost 1.16% or 3.0 points to trade at 254.6 in late trade. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OSLO:PGS) declined 0.76% or 0.31 points to end at 40.73 and DnB ASA (OSLO:DNB) shed 0.61% or 0.8 points to 130.1.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 95 to 81 and 6 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.93% or 0.53 to $57.49 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.93% or 0.57 to hit $62.59 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.52% or 6.10 to trade at $1163.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.71% to 8.8314, while USD/NOK rose 0.37% to 7.9648.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 96.25.
