Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Media, Hotels, Restaurants & Leisure and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Schibsted ASA A (OSLO:SBSTA), which rose 5.66% or 13.8 points to trade at 257.6 at the close. Storebrand ASA (OSLO:STB) added 3.43% or 1.11 points to end at 33.45 and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (OSLO:RCLo) was up 2.94% or 18.0 points to 631.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Seadrill Limited (OSLO:SDRL), which lost 3.55% or 2.9 points to trade at 78.8 in late trade. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OSLO:PGS) declined 2.73% or 1.15 points to end at 41.04 and Statoil ASA (OSLO:STL) shed 1.78% or 2.5 points to 137.6.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 95 to 79 and 7 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 3.04% or 1.81 to $57.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.58% or 1.00 to hit $62.59 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.22% or 2.60 to trade at $1169.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.14% to 8.7582, while USD/NOK rose 0.62% to 7.9040.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.55% at 96.28.
