Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Support Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 2.15% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Boskalis Westmin (AMS:BOSN), which rose 8.79% or 3.87 points to trade at 47.83 at the close. Ahold Kon (AMS:AHLN) added 2.09% or 0.36 points to end at 17.86 and ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) was unchanged 0.01% or 0.00 points to 7.68 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL), which lost 3.96% or 0.43 points to trade at 10.56 in late trade. DSM Kon (AMS:DSMN) declined 3.94% or 1.98 points to end at 48.30 and ING Groep (AMS:ING) shed 3.87% or 0.550 points to 13.660.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 183 to 36 on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 6.74% to 24.05 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.29% or 0.12 to $41.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.50% or 0.23 to hit $46.92 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 2.09% or 23.60 to trade at $1151.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.75% to 1.1202, while EUR/GBP rose 0.75% to 0.7144.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.48% at 95.96.
