Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Real Estate, Support Services and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 1.74% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were OCI (AMS:OCI), which rose 0.50% or 0.130 points to trade at 25.980 at the close. Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA) added 0.25% or 0.02 points to end at 9.68 and Vopak (AMS:VOPA) was up 0.18% or 0.09 points to 46.67 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aegon (AMS:AEGN), which lost 3.59% or 0.255 points to trade at 6.847 in late trade. Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP) declined 3.49% or 8.70 points to end at 240.40 and Randstad (AMS:RAND) shed 3.37% or 1.81 points to 51.95.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 192 to 59 and 5 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 5.71% to 22.74 a new 3-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 3.28% or 1.93 to $60.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 2.48% or 1.65 to hit $68.09 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.67% or 7.90 to trade at $1194.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.38% to 1.1188, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.7366.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.40% at 95.21.
