Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Real Estate and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 1.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa), which rose 0.56% or 0.14 points to trade at 26.18 at the close. Vopak (AMS:VOPA) added 0.10% or 0.04 points to end at 45.34 and NN Group (AMS:NN) was down 0.08% or 0.02 points to 25.52 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP), which lost 2.75% or 6.35 points to trade at 224.70 in late trade. Heineken (AMS:HEIN) declined 2.32% or 1.60 points to end at 67.24 and Ahold Kon (AMS:AHLN) shed 2.14% or 0.41 points to 18.72.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 199 to 38 and 7 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 3.31% to 21.41.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.57% or 0.33 to $57.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.56% or 0.34 to hit $61.69 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.62% or 7.30 to trade at $1167.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.18% to 1.1105, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.7275.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.04% at 96.49.
