Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Food Producers and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.96%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA), which rose 0.30% or 0.03 points to trade at 10.11 at the close. DSM Kon (AMS:DSMN) added 0.21% or 0.11 points to end at 53.49 and ASML Holding (AMS:ASML) was down 0.16% or 0.16 points to 99.94 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice SA (AMS:ATCE), which lost 6.55% or 8.60 points to trade at 122.60 in late trade. Boskalis Westmin (AMS:BOSN) declined 1.84% or 0.85 points to end at 45.37 and NN Group (AMS:NN) shed 1.44% or 0.39 points to 26.27.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 179 to 62 and 5 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 6.30% to 18.45.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 2.56% or 1.53 to $58.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 2.80% or 1.83 to hit $63.69 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.45% or 17.50 to trade at $1187.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.87% to 1.0883, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.7068.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.89% at 97.32.
