Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.89% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were DSM Kon (AMS:DSMN), which rose 1.43% or 0.76 points to trade at 53.85 at the close. Gemalto (AMS:GTO) added 0.18% or 0.14 points to end at 79.33 and Heineken (AMS:HEIN) was down 0.06% or 0.04 points to 67.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NN Group (AMS:NN), which lost 2.41% or 0.61 points to trade at 24.91 in late trade. Aegon (AMS:AEGN) declined 2.32% or 0.158 points to end at 6.650 and Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA) shed 1.77% or 0.17 points to 9.71.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 201 to 37 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 3.74% to 22.21 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.78% or 1.05 to $58.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.10% or 0.69 to hit $62.62 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.31% or 3.60 to trade at $1171.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.07% to 1.1233, while EUR/GBP rose 0.90% to 0.7342.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.73% at 95.67.
