Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Technology and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice SA (AMS:ATCE), which rose 2.14% or 2.70 points to trade at 128.95 at the close. KPN Kon (AMS:KPN) added 1.27% or 0.045 points to end at 3.593 and Gemalto (AMS:GTO) was up 1.09% or 0.86 points to 79.81 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NN Group (AMS:NN), which lost 1.55% or 0.43 points to trade at 27.57 in late trade. ASML Holding (AMS:ASML) declined 1.18% or 1.10 points to end at 92.22 and Akzo Nobel (AMS:AKZO) shed 0.99% or 0.69 points to 68.77.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 133 to 119 and 1 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 6.47% to 15.55 a new 6-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.33% or 0.17 to $50.74 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.25% or 0.14 to hit $57.06 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.12% or 12.80 to trade at $1131.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.0850, while EUR/GBP fell 0.36% to 0.6943.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.21% at 97.97.
