Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Healthcare and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were KPN Kon (AS:KPN), which rose 1.01% or 0.035 points to trade at 3.485 at the close. Heineken (AS:HEIN) added 0.85% or 0.69 points to end at 81.44 and Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) was up 0.48% or 0.17 points to 36.37 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NN Group (AS:NN), which lost 2.65% or 0.81 points to trade at 29.91 in late trade. Gemalto (AS:GTO) declined 2.10% or 1.24 points to end at 57.67 and Randstad (AS:RAND) shed 1.06% or 0.52 points to 48.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 85 to 77 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.79% to 18.19 a new 6-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 2.72% or 1.13 to $40.37 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 2.19% or 0.96 to hit $42.88 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.85% or 10.40 to trade at $1236.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.38% to 1.1308, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.7944.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.43% at 94.53.
