Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Philips Kon (AS:PHG), which rose 0.98% or 0.27 points to trade at 27.73 at the close. Aalberts Industries (AS:AALB) added 0.78% or 0.23 points to end at 28.94 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) was up 0.73% or 0.43 points to 59.19 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gemalto (AS:GTO), which lost 7.08% or 3.99 points to trade at 52.35 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 4.15% or 2.440 points to end at 56.420 and Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) shed 1.70% or 0.52 points to 30.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 99 to 67 and 18 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 3.23% to 18.11.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.19% or 0.59 to $49.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.15% or 0.58 to hit $49.89 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.14% or 1.75 to trade at $1271.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.0945, while EUR/GBP rose 0.50% to 0.9004.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 98.64.
