Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.85%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which rose 1.65% or 0.78 points to trade at 48.04 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 1.26% or 1.080 points to end at 86.920 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was up 0.89% or 1.70 points to 192.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which lost 1.86% or 0.67 points to trade at 35.02 in late trade. ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) declined 1.84% or 0.68 points to end at 36.20 and Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND) shed 1.58% or 0.82 points to 51.06.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 71 to 61 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.96% to 14.61.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.52% or 1.04 to $67.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.49% or 0.38 to hit $78.10 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1301.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1666, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8779.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 94.09.
