Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Media and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 1.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were OCI (AMS:OCI), which rose 4.18% or 1.110 points to trade at 27.690 at the close. Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP) added 3.77% or 9.00 points to end at 247.90 and Reed Elsevier (AMS:ELSN) was up 3.21% or 0.710 points to 22.805 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vopak (AMS:VOPA), which lost 0.70% or 0.31 points to trade at 43.83 in late trade. Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA) declined 0.44% or 0.04 points to end at 10.08 and TNT Express (AMS:TNTE) shed 0.03% or 0.002 points to 7.648.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 179 to 66 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.32% to 17.13 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 3.07% or 1.85 to $58.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 2.89% or 1.92 to hit $64.36 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.63% or 20.00 to trade at $1207.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.53% to 1.1142, while EUR/GBP fell 0.59% to 0.7185.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.25% at 95.40.
